Today I’ll start with a story that I was told in my 6th grade… A pilot had some vision problems and he had to leave his job. Frustrated and dissatisfied, he left the big city and settled in a small town. There a farmer appointed him for a salary enough for bread and some beer. The farmer assigned him the task of fumigation of his fields using a helicopter and expected him to finish it in 72 hours. To farmer’s surprise, the pilot had completed the task in 24 hrs. Impressed by the efficiency of the pilot, the farmer offered him another task and expected him to finish it in a week’s time. The farmer took the pilot to a big hall full of potatoes. He explained the pilot that this huge pile has a mix qulaity of potatoes and his task is to segregate the type A, B and C. The farmer returned after a week and was astonished to see that there were only 3 to 4 potatoes in each category and the huge pile was still to be sorted. Angrily, the farmer asked ” why have you not done it in a week’s time?”. The pilot innocently replied “Sir, here , I had to take a decision”. When faced with two equally tough choices, most people choose the third choice: to not choose.
The problem, simply put, is that we cannot choose everything simultaneously. So we live in danger of becoming paralyzed by indecision, terrified that every choice might be the wrong choice. Part of making a good decision is just making a decision. You can’t always sit and weigh the pros and cons. There just isn’t time for that. Making a good decision means sticking with your choice and dealing with what comes with it. Being able to deal with the consequences—that’s making a good decision.

Do not waste every breath of your life trying to be the best nobody has ever been. Some are young people who don’t know who they are, what they can be or even want to be. They are afraid, but they don’t know of what. They are angry, but they don’t know at whom. They are rejected and they don’t know why. All they want is to be somebody. Every decision you make in life has benefits and consequences. Sometimes you just have to go on faith, and even that comes at a price. It means you have to give up the idea that you’re the one in charge of the universe. And so step out bold and have the courage to make decisions.

What if you were wrong? What if everything you ever believed was a lie? What if you missed your opportunity because you didn’t know your worth? What if you settled on familiar, but God was trying to give you something better? What if you decided not to go backwards, but forward? What if doing what you have never done before was the answer to everything that didn’t make sense? What if the answer wasn’t to be found in words, but in action? What if you found the courage to do what you really wanted to do and doing it changed your whole life…. and the questions are unlimited that hit our mindlessly wandering mind but we must believe that some beautiful paths can’t be discovered without getting lost.

In the space between yes and no, there is a lifetime. It’s the difference between the path you walk and one you leave behind; it’s the gap between who you thought you could be and who you really are.If you want to trust yourself, make decisions that are grounded in your authentic values. Opinions are the cheapest commodities on earth. Everyone has a flock of opinions ready to be wished upon anyone who will accept them. If you are influenced by “opinions” when you reach DECISIONS, you will not succeed in any undertaking. Not making a decision is the worst thing you can do. So as long as you feel you made the right decision based on the information you had at that time, there’s no need to fret about it. If it fails, you’ll know what to do next time.

The one basic force that stops us from making decisions is fear, fear to err, fear to fail. When we are afraid, we pull back from life and start doubting our ownselves. We need to learn to accept our own existence as a masterpiece of God. When we start believing that we are meant to manifest the glory of God that is within us and let our own light shine, we unconciously liberate ourselves from our own fears. We then are prepared to take decisions in life, in all our glory and all our imperfections, we are then also open to own our decisions with passion, excitement and acceptance.

Here is the world. Beautiful and terrible things will happen. Don’t be afraid and just keep going. Take decisions, what if they result to be wrong? you will always have the energy and the ability to rise above and make a difference. Our greatest fear should not be of failure but of succeeding at things in life that don’t really matter or will by any means harm our fellow humans. Each day you are taking decisions. Whether you realize it or not or whether it leads to success or failure, you are influencing those around you with your decisions. So step out of fear, step into the not so comforting zone and start building a newer you …. a YOU that makes this world a little better place to live.

Make decisions and take charge of your life, even the worst of all will be the beginning of a beautiful journey.
